Eva Cox (Belgium, 1970) began writing poetry early in 1999 and made her début later that year as a performing poet. After many performances she entered Flanders’ first poetry slam competition, which she won hands down. Cox wrote a handful of rattle rhymes and slanging verses that work well on stage, but she prefers building an alienating atmosphere in more carefully written, more delicate texts. Typical for her are her bizarre imagery and an unembarrassed use of sound and rhythm. |
