Mario Montalbetti (Peru, 1953) studied linguistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he obtained his Ph.D. under Noam Chomsky. He currently teaches linguistics at the University of Arizona. So far he has published four collections of poems, the latest, Llantos Elíseos (Elysian tears) in 2002.
