Hagar Peeters

(Netherlands, 1972) made a name for herself as a performing poet before she published her first collection, Genoeg gedicht over de liefde vandaag (Done enough love poetry today). Her second collection, Koffers zeelucht (Trunks of sea air), appeared in 2003 to much critical acclaim, and recently won her the Jo Peters Poetry Prize. She also wrote a prose work, Gerrit de Stotteraar. Biografie van een boef (Gerrit de Stotteraar. Biography of a crook), for which she received the City of Utrecht Booksellers’ Prize.
