Yi Won (South Korea, 1968) grew up in Seoul and began publishing in magazines in 1992. She studied literature and obtained her doctorate in 2000 with a thesis on the modernistic Korean poet Oh Kyu-Won. In 2002 she received the annual award of the leading Korean journal Contemporary Poetry.
