Tsead Bruinja 1974-...

country: the Netherlands
language: Frisian
Tsead Bruinja [the Netherlands/Friesland, 1974] writes at express speed. Between 2000 and 2004, no less than five collections of poems saw the light of day. He wrote the first three in the Frisian language, after which he switched to writing in Dutch. In his poems, Bruinja combines compelling rhythms and clever play on sounds with surprising, original images. Bruinja is co-compiler of the anthologies Kutgedichten (Cunt Poems) and Klotegedichten (Ballsy Poems) as well as the bilingual anthology of contemporary Frisian poetry Droom in blauwe regenjas (Dream in Blue Raincoat).
