Monika Rinck [Germany, 1969] can be called a poeta docta par excellence. She has studied religious studies, history and comparative linguistics at the University of Bochum, the Free University of Berlin and at Yale University. In her poetry she combines linguistic considerations with romanticism and popular culture. Rinck has published three collections of poetry, including begriffsstudio, a work taking place on the Internet, of which the first publication in book form appeared in 2001.
