Paul Scott 1956-... country: Great Britain language: English |
Paul Scott [Great Britain 1956] is one of the most prominent poets of his country in sign language. He writes poems in British Sign Language and also enjoys international recognition. Scott uses being deaf as a starting point for his poetry, but that does not lead to lachrymose poems. He wrote a parable, for example, about the suppression of sign language that – as in other countries – was also common in Great Britain for many years. Monday 20 June, Main Hall, 21.30 hrs. |
