Matei Viºniec [Romania, 1956] was born in Rãdãuþi, which lies in the Romanian province of Moldavia. He has studied history and philosophy in Bucharest. Initially, Viºniec mainly wrote poetry, but during his exile in France he has concentrated on plays, which he writes in French.
