Poet

Jorie Graham 1951-...

country: USA
language: English
Jorie Graham [USA, 1951] moved to Europe when young and has lived in France and Italy. This European background has had a clear influence on her literary development and can be seen, among other things, from the attention she pays in her poetry to the Italian countryside, the Holocaust, and painters such as Gustav Klimt and Jackson Pollock. Her poetry has a strong philosophical and spiritual bias, but is not detached from reality. Jorie Graham is considered one of the most important present-day American poets. She has been awarded the Pulitzer Prize for her work.

Saturday 18 June, Main Hall, 20.00 hrs.
