Organisation
The annual Poetry International Festival is organised by Stichting Poetry International and depends to a considerable extent on the help of numerous volunteers.
Stichting Poetry International is a literary organisation which aims at promoting an interest in good poetry from at home and abroad and in stimulating the international exchange of poets, poetry translators, connoisseurs and poetry-lovers.
The major part of Poetry International’s activities is made up of the organising of a number of annual events that include the Poetry International Festival, Poetry Day and the Children’s Festival. In addition, there are the projects Poem for the Traveller and The Poem is a Message. The foundation is furthermore involved in literary education in primary and secondary schooling via reading suggestions concerning poetry.
